two filipinos were able to enter the top 20 of the 8th season of the popular reality show so you think you can dance. marko germar and tadd gadduang were able to enter the top 20 final list and were able to perform live in the show.
22 year old germar is the first dancer from guam to make it to the show. he moved to guam from the philippines when he was 10 years old. he is a jazz dancer but has also trained for ballroom, hip hop, tap, ballet and gymnastic. his nickname is kimboy and has been working in disneyland as a dancer in aladdin for more than a year and a half now. he has been a hip hop dancer since the age of 7 and was formally trained since 10 years old.
25 year old gadduang on the other hand, is a hip hop dancer from salt lake city, utah. his family moved from the philippines to daly city then to san francisco, where he was born. it was his sister who got him into dancing. he has been learning the pinoy martial arts, kali since age 6 and has been dancing also around that age and also knows how to play the piano. he is currently on his 2nd year in psychology.
both their parents are filipinos, making them pure blooded pinoy pride. hope the filipino community there can support them, especially marko since guam will not be able to vote due to the time difference.
