the whole world welcomes the newest country in its list, south sudan. africa's largest nation, sudan is now divided into the northern and southern parts. its capital is juba with a total land area of about 619,745 square kilometers. its official flag is on the picture on the left side of this blog post. it is divided into 10 states and further subdivided into 86 different counties.its independence has been declared today, 9-july-2011, exactly six years after its autonomy was declared in 2005. the country is now being led by its president, salva kiir mayardit.
