A Filipino - American BBoy is this year's America's Favorite Dancer! After 16 weeks of auditions and competitions, the 16th season of the hit talent competition So You Think You Can Dance has crowned a new winner - FilAm BBoy Bailey Munoz.

Munoz officially became the first BBoy to become the winner of the show. He also made it back to back wins for the FilAms - after Hannahlei Cabanilla won last year.

Munoz, who was born in the Bay Area but grew and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, won over his show dance partner - Mariah Russel, Gino Cosculluela and Sophie Pittman in the show's live finale last September 16.

Munoz has been a strong contender all throughout the competition and has adapted to partner dances and the different genres as weeks in the competition progressed. Standing only 5 feet tall, Munoz stood tall as the season winner.

Congratulations Bailey and we are proud of you!

ASIA'S GOT TALENT : NEIL GOT ROBBED AGAIN OF THAT GOLDEN BUZZER

Neil Llanes again got robbed of that elusive golden buzzer at the first live semifinals show of the hit talent show Asia's Got Talent.

After performing too late, just after the last Golden Buzzer was given away by judge David Foster, Neil again stepped it up in his live show performance for the semifinals. In last year's audition, he mixed 5 sounds, in this year's auditions, he mixed 6 sounds, for the live show, he was able to mix together 7 sounds which still was not enough to convince the judges to give him the golden buzzer even after getting a standing ovation after his performance. You can watch his performance below as posted in the show's YouTube channel :

Another Filipino talent, Deniel Sarmiento of Boracay also impressed the judges with his flexible body contortions mixed with contemporary dancing. Here is his performance as well:

So, we will again settle for the harder way to get to the finals. Please vote for both Neil and Deniel through Facebook and Google, You can follow theinstructions in the video below:

Meanwhile, 2 more Filipino acts will perform in the second live semifinals night - comebacking Fitri Cerado and dance group DMX Comvalenoz.

Let's help these Filipino acts to the finals. Good luck Neil and Deniel.

X FACTOR UK : ALISAH BONAOBRA MEETS THE END OF HER X FACTOR JOURNEY

Filipina singer has met the end of her journey at the talent show X Factor UK - and now I think it is for good.

Alisah was picked as the wildcard for the Girls Category mentored by Sharon Osbourne. She already survived 2 live shows and is already part of the top 12 of the show.

Last Sunday, the show paid tribute to the late legend George Michael. Alisah performed a relatively unknown hit of the singer - "Praying for Time." Here is her performance as posted in the show's YouTube Channel :

After the votes, it was Alisah who got eliminated :

It is already the 4th time she got the cut - first in the bootcamp where her perseverance convinced the judges she deserves a second chance; second in the 6 chair challenge where the audience pushed Sharon to give her another chance and she did not disappoint with her "Bang Bang" performance and in the judge's house where she was not part of the 3 that Sharon choose before she got in as a wildcard.

Good luck Alisah in your next adventure! You made the Philippines proud!

Alisah Bonaobra's X Factor journey just refuses to end. She's back in the show again!

After being nearly eliminated in the bootcamp, in the 6 chair challenge and eventually eliminated at judge's house, the young Filipina singer was voted back to the competition as a wildcard for the girl's category mentored by Sharon Osbourne.

In the live show last yesterday, Alisah performed Jordin Spark's winner's song from American Idol, Here is the video as posted in the show's YouTube channel:

After all acts from the girls and boys category performed, one act will go home. Here is the elimination video as posted in the same channel:

X FACTOR UK : JBK FAILS TO GET TO THE JUDGES' HOMES; AND SURPRISE - A FILIPINA IS IN THE OVERS CATEGORY

Filipino boyband JBK almost made it to the judges home, but lost their seat in the final sing off and just missed the cut.

JBK actually started strong by singing the Boyz II Men classic "I'll Make Love To You" and most of the judges even said that they had the best vocals among the groups tonight. After their performance, mentor Simon Cowell gave them Chair number 1.

Here is JBK's performance posted in the show's YouTube channel:

At the end of the challenge, Simon decided to give the New Girl Band a seat and ordered a sing off between JBK and Lemonade. Here is what happened:

All of the other judges thinks JBK needed to stay, but Simon thinks otherwise. He sent JBK home and gave the last seat to Lemonade. This upsets Nicole and she walks out and tells Simon not to talk to her.

I think this is bound to happen since JBK was rarely seen in the boot camp edits. They did not even show any performance of the group at bootcamp. Simon might be concerned on how to market JBK to the UK audience since they are always singing classics and old songs. I think they should have sang a more current song in the sing off - just what Alisah Bonaobra did last week to prove that they are new and current and can be related to by the audience.

This ends JBK's X Factor Uk journey but I really hope they bring back the Judges's wildcard from last season where a judge chooses a wildcard for another judge to join them at judges' home. I really hope Nicole chooses for Simon and she chooses JBK.

With that Alisah is the only Filipino act in the competition - oh wait, there is really another Filipina in the overs category!

Sorry for missing her out but apparently, Loverine Fermino is in the six chair challenge in theovers category of Nicole! She was the winner of Birit Queen before of Eat Bulaga! Here is her performance during the round where she sang Jennifer Holliday's "I Am Telling You":

She gets a seat from Nicole and let's wait tomorrow if she gets to stay in the seat and into the judges' homes round.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Nicole decided to send home Loverine as well, leaving Alisah as the only Filipino act in the competition.

X FACTOR UK 2017 : ALISAH BONAOBRA ALMOST GOT ELIMINATED IN WALL OF SONG ROUND, BOUNCED BACK IN SOLO ROUND

Filipino contestant and The Voice of the Philippines alumni Alisah Bonaobra almost got eliminated in the wall of song round of the boot camp of X Factor UK.

In boot camp this year, the first round is the wall of songs where contestants gets a song that they like to sing in a wall full of songs. After which they need to find 3 more contestants that with the same song and they will perform as a group.

Alisah ended up with another Filipina Gaga Lord, Natalie and Rai-elle Williams singing a Mariah Carey classic We Belong Together. After they performed, the judges decided that only one - Rai-elle will advance. Alisah just won't accept no, begged for a second chance and sang a part of the song again, convincing the judges to give her a second chance. Here is the video from the show's YouTube channel :

With that, Alisah moves on to the solo rounds and Gaga Lord's journey ends. It is also reported that boy group  JBK also survived the round though I can't find their performance video. Elysa V. also advances and is included in this group who sang Bruno Mars' Locked Out of Heaven:

In the solo round where they need to perform in front of a live audience, Alisa has to prove that she deserves her spot, performing Defying Gravity - she did just that:

Judges unanimously voted that she indeed deserved her spot and she advances to the 6 Chair sing off round next week.

I am still looking for reports on how Elysa V. and JBK fare in the solo rounds. I really hope they too advance to the 6 chair challenge.

X FACTOR UK : PINOYS WOWS JUDGES IN AUDITIONS

At least 4 Filipino talents has auditioned and passed to the bootcamp round of the 14th season of the UK version of the hit reality talent search X Factor.

It can be remembered that in season 12 of the same show 2 years ago, the girl group 4th Impact (previously known as the Cercado sisters) competed in the show and eventually finished in 5th place.

First to audition was 40 year old dinner lady Gaga Lord. She auditioned with a Shirley Bassey classic and James Bond movie theme song "Diamonds Are Forever". She got the judges' approval bot just through her boss but also with her personality. Here is her audition video:

An 18 year old Filipina student from Australia also audition - Elysa V and also advanced to the next round despite battling jet lag on the auditions:

A boyband group then took the Filipino talent to the X Factor stage. The group named JBK - composed of band members Joshua Bulot, Bryan del Rosario and Kim Ordonio, showcased their voices with Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" and was able to get all 4 yes from the judges.

Last but definitely not the least, a familiar face also auditioned - Alisah Bonaobra. Alisah first went viral after a video of hers singing "Let It Go" in a shopping mall was posted on line. She was also the runner up in the 2nd season of The Voice Philippines, finishing runner up under Team Apl. She auditioned with Beyonce's song "Listen" and also got the 4 yes from the judges.

I am hoping that all these Filipino acts reach the live shows and eventually I hope one of them wins the title. Good luck and we are all cheering for all of you!

ASIA'S GOT TALENT : SEASON 2 PREMIERES OCTOBER 12

It's official. Asia's Got Talent will be back really soon. As announced last week, the hit reality show will be back on television on October 12, 2017 on AXN, more than 2 years after the  first season ended.

As previously announced, the show will have 2 new hosts - Alan Wong and Justin Bratton. The judges this season will be comebacking judges David Foster and Anggun and a new judge - Korean superstar Jay Park.

Here is the official announcement video as posted in the show's YouTube channel:

So excited that the show is back. I can't wait to know how many Filipino acts will again make it through after being the best performing country last season - having 2 golden buzzer acts (plus another one in the semifinals); getting 4 slots in the finals out of the 9 acts and producing the 3rd placer (Gerphil Flores) and the reigning champion El Gamma Penumbra.

VIRAL VIDEO : AMAZING AUDITION OF CLAIRVOYANTS IN AMERICA'S GOT TALENT

This video has been doing the rounds in social media last week after it aired in the show. This is an audition of The Clairvoyants in the talent search America's Got Talent.

In this act, Tommy and Amelie asks for the participation of judge Heidi Klum on stage, some audience members and even judge Howie Mandel in the end of the act.

This is definitely one of the best and mind boggling auditions I have ever seen. Here is the video as posted in the official YouTube channel of the show:

The X Factor UK, the British version of the popular talent show, was caught off guard by 4 Filipina singers.

The group is composed of sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene and Celina wowed the British audience and the show's judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw and Simon Cowell with their amazing vocals, rap skills and dance moves. Simon even said that it was one of the best auditions he had ever seen.

In 2013, Rose Fostanes took the title in X Factor Israel. Last year, it was Marlisa Punzalan who won in X Factor Australia. Will the Philippine talent take over X Factor UK this year?
