HIGHLY RECOMMENDED : 13 REASONS WHY - NETFLIX

During my nine day vacation over the holy week break, I took time to catch up on the series that I have been watching. While watching a few YouTube videos, I came across the trailer for Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. So I asked my sister about it and she said she had copies so I decided to watch the series.

The series was based on the novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and was released in 2007. It was about a high school girl who committed suicide. Before she did it, she was able to record tapes on the 13 reasons why she did it. She left the tapes to a trusted friends and the people she mentioned in the tapes took turns listening to them.

The story exposes the twists and turns of high school life - bullying, friendships, popular kids, jocks, parties and even rape. The story was crafted very beautifully, alternating present day and flashbacks. The ending was quite a cliff hanger, with the viewer wanting to know more.

Get your subscription to Netflix now and I really recommend watching the series. I really assume that there will be season 2 soon.

FOOTBALL: PH WOMEN'S NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM QUALIFIES FOR 2018 ASIAN CUP

What the Azkals failed to do, the Malditas achieved.

The Philippines National Women's Football Team has qualified to participate in the 2018 AFC Women's Asian Cup to be held next year in Jordan. The Filipinas were runner up in Group A behind Jordan, who automatically qualifies as host in the said event.

The team, mainly made up of the best collegiate players of the country and some foreign based players, started strong in the competition. They blanked their first 3 opponents. They first won over United Arab Emirates, 4-0, then won over Iraq with the same score. They then outclassed hosts Tajikistan, 8-0.

In their fourth match in the qualifiers, the team only needs a draw to formalize their entry to the main tournament. The match against Bahrain was a close one, having been goalless at half time. The Bahrain team was able to find the back of the net at the 55th minute via a goal by Al Dossary. The Filipinas attacked relentlessly after and was able to have the equalizer from Sarah Castaneda at the 82nd minute, escaping with a draw and qualifying to the main tournament,

In their last game, the Filipinas was given a preview of what awaits them in the main tournament. The hosts for next year's tournament, Jordan handed them a 5-1 loss but this is already a non-bearing game.

This is the 9th time the Philippines qualified for the Asian Cup but it was already 14 years since the last time the team qualified. This is a big win for Women's football in the Philippines.

Congrats Philippines Malditas!
