to commemorate our national hero, dr. jose rizal's 150th birthday, rizal's birthplace, calamba city, laguna unveiled the tallest rizal monument in the world. the new monument is located on a 7 hectare land dubbed as the jose rizal park or the plaza; which is directly in front of the calamba city hall.the monument is around 22 feet tall, which represents the 22 languages and dialects that jose rizal speaks. it is also on top of a 15 step stairways; each step represents a decade in the 150 years after his birth.
this is built by the local government of calamba city with the help of the philippine charity sweepstakes office (pcso).
